Did you get out of bed on New Year’s Day full of determination to make some changes in your life? So, how long does this fervor last? How many people are still at it a week later? My guess is that the second number is only a tiny percentage of the first. Why does this happen? Why do we lose our fervor and revert to our old ways so quickly?

The answer is called “homeostasis”.

The human body and mind is designed for stability in everything from pulse and body temperature to our surroundings. Change, no matter how welcome or how badly needed, is calamitous. You’ve probably had at least one major change in your life and it was probably one of the most stressful changes you’ve ever experienced. People don’t like change and our subconscious minds will do everything in their power to maintain the status quo no matter how awful it is. Turn over that new leaf and your body will detect the change and take steps to remedy it. Chances are you won’t even realize it’s happening until it’s too late. This is no accident. Your subconscious mind is constantly doing everything in power to keep the homo sapiens (you) in stasis (in your comfort zone). Homeostasis.

The good news is that you can hotwire this inner programming and make whatever changes you want in your life or business using a very simple 4-step process:

First, define your goal right down to the who, what, where, when, why, how, and so what.

Second, define easy steps that you can take each week to maintain and grow your home-based business. Having done that, forget everything but the current week’s step. Next week isn’t here yet, so worrying about that step is pointless. Last week is done and gone. Focus solely on this week. Just like that, you’ve broken your lofty goals into manageable chunks that should be easy to take care of each week.

Third, accomplish your milestone for the current week.

The fourth and arguably most important step (aside from taking the action itself) is to reward yourself for accomplishing your tasks for the week. Don’t go overboard; you need not spend a lot of money or go to much trouble. You should, however, select rewards that are creative and meaningful to you on a deeper level.

These easy steps render even the most complicated goals simple by letting you bite off one small piece at a time. Best of all, you get to celebrate and feel great about every single little piece. Life is a journey. You may as well enjoy it.

How will you put my system to work for you? Will you start a new home-based business or grow your existing home-based business? Or…? This process makes achievement easy because it tricks the mind into thinking all is stable while you are actually making changes. Dive into a pool and your entire body will feel the shock. Go in slowly and you’ll hardly notice the cold. The same logic applies to this four-step process.

What do you want to accomplish this year? I’m certainly not suggesting that you stop making New Year’s resolutions. I am suggesting that you take a little time to help guarantee your success. And why not? Don’t you deserve to succeed?

Keeping your players happy about doing training is one of the key ingredients in maintaining enthusiasm. Establishing a set of fun soccer drills for kids is a challenge for many coaches and one of the key ingredients is coming up with drills which keep them interested.

Just doing goal shooting drills will soon become boring and won’t be effective in nurturing a young players overall skills. Competitive drills pitting players against each other are great for refining skills such as dribbling, receiving and passing.

One on one or two on four drills don’t become boring and in fact, take the boredom out of their training. It also encourages both competitive and team spirit and is very effective in keeping a player focused on developing individual skills.

Kids Fun Soccer Drills

In this article, we highlight a couple of soccer drills which incorporate what we’ve mentioned above.

- Drills where you pit one player against two or more are a great way to develop both the balance of a young player and their competitive nature. Ideally, for inexperienced players, putting two players are against four is preferred.

- Simply place the larger number of players around a made up perimeter of about 30 feet and then put the two other players in the middle.

- The larger group will then pass the ball to each other while the other two will be attempting to “rob” them of the ball. When one of the outside players surrenders the ball to one of the inside players they then swap positions.

The biggest benefits with this soccer drill is it teaches the kids to work in a tight space and not overwork the ball as well work as a team.

One On One Drill

This is another fun soccer drills for kids as it really gets the competitive juices going. No kid likes to look second best and when they are up against just one other opponent they generally want to win to not only impress the coach but also mom or dad who might be looking on not to mention gaining bragging rights.

- One player is the attacker and the other the defender

- Designate a space for them to work in but not too large

- The attacking player must try and pass a point(a line in the sand) using dribbling techniques

- If he succeeds he is award a number of points but if he doesn’t then the defender gets the points

- Set up best out of five drills and to take it a step further, you could introduce a round robin where the last two standing get to square off in a final
